By Air

Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi (IXR) is the primary airport with direct flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Patna. Major airlines include IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet, and Vistara. The airport is 7 km from Ranchi city centre.

Sonari Airport, Jamshedpur handles limited regional flights. Gaya Airport (in Bihar) also serves southern Jharkhand.

By Rail

Major Railway Stations:

Ranchi Junction — Capital city, trains to all metros
Dhanbad Junction — On Grand Chord (Delhi–Kolkata main line)

NH-33 — Ranchi to Barhi (connects to NH-2/GT Road)

NH-6 — Jamshedpur to Kolkata corridor

State-run JKSRTC and private Volvo buses connect Ranchi to Kolkata (8h), Patna (7h), and other cities.
