Weekend Waterfalls Getaway

A quick escape from Ranchi exploring the finest waterfalls and natural beauty around the capital city.

Day 1
Ranchi — Jonha Falls — Hundru Falls
Start early from Ranchi. Drive 40 km southeast to Jonha Falls (Gautamdhara). Spend 2 hours exploring the cascading waterfall and the Buddhist temple at the base. After lunch at a local dhaba, head to Hundru Falls (45 km from Ranchi). Trek down to the base pool for stunning views of the 98-metre drop. Return to Ranchi by evening and visit Tagore Hill for sunset.
Day 2
Dassam Falls — Rock Garden — Departure
Drive 40 km from Ranchi to Dassam Falls on the Kanchi river. Enjoy the scenic 44-metre cascade. Visit the nearby Rock Garden for its sculpted landscapes. Return to Ranchi by noon for souvenir shopping at Main Road or Lalpur market. Departure in the evening.

Spiritual Pilgrimage Circuit

Day 1
Arrival in Deoghar — Baidyanath Dham
Arrive in Deoghar by train or road. Check into a hotel near the temple complex. Visit Baba Baidyanath Temple for the evening aarti ceremony. This Jyotirlinga temple is among the holiest Shiva shrines in India.
Day 2
Naulakha Temple — Trikut Hills
Morning visit to Naulakha Mandir, a stunning temple built in South Indian architectural style. Take the ropeway to Trikut Hills for panoramic views of the Deoghar valley. Visit Satsanga Ashram in the afternoon.
Day 3
Deoghar to Parasnath Hill (Shikharji)
Travel to Parasnath (approximately 150 km). Begin the sacred ascent of Shikharji, the most important Jain pilgrimage site. The 28 km trek covers 20 Jain Tonks (shrines) on the hilltop. Overnight stay at the foothill dharamshala.
Day 4
Parasnath to Rajrappa
Travel to Rajrappa (90 km). Visit the Chinnamastika Temple at the confluence of Damodar and Bhairavi rivers. This Shakti Peetha is one of the most powerful tantric temples in India. Explore the river gorge and surrounding forests.
Day 5
Rajrappa to Ranchi — Jagannath Temple — Departure
Drive to Ranchi (100 km). Visit the Jagannath Temple in Ranchi, built in the style of the Puri Jagannath Temple in Odisha. Shop for Chhau dance masks and tribal handicrafts before departure.

Sal Forest & Wildlife Explorer

An immersive week-long adventure through Jharkhand's dense forests, wildlife sanctuaries, and scenic valleys.

Day 1
Arrival in Ranchi — Birsa Zoo
Arrive in Ranchi. Visit Birsa Munda Biological Park (Birsa Zoo) to see native species including tigers, elephants, bears, and exotic birds. Check into hotel and rest.
Day 2
Ranchi to Betla National Park
Drive 170 km to Betla National Park in Latehar district. Check into the Forest Rest House or eco-lodge. Afternoon safari through the buffer zone — spot wild elephants, sambar deer, and langurs in the sal forest.
Day 3
Betla Deep Jungle Safari — Chero Fort
Early morning jeep safari into the core zone. Betla is home to tigers, leopards, wild boars, Indian bison (gaur), and over 170 bird species. After the safari, explore the ancient Chero Fort ruins inside the park.
Day 4
Betla to Netarhat — Pine Forests
Drive to Netarhat (65 km), the "Queen of Chotanagpur." Pass through dense sal and pine forests. Check into JTDC guest house. Evening walk through the misty pine forests and colonial-era pathways.
Day 5
Netarhat Sunrise — Magnolia Point — Lodh Falls
Wake up at 5 AM for the legendary Netarhat sunrise from the viewpoint. After breakfast, visit Magnolia Point for stunning valley views. Drive to Lodh Falls (also called Budha Ghagh), the highest waterfall in Jharkhand at 143 metres.
Day 6
Netarhat to Patratu Valley
Return towards Ranchi via Patratu Valley. Stop at the famous S-curve road for breathtaking scenic photography. Visit Patratu Dam and enjoy boating on the reservoir. Continue to Ranchi.
Day 7
Ranchi Local — Departure
Visit Hundru Falls for a final nature experience. Stop at the State Museum for Jharkhand tribal art and artefacts. Shopping for Sohrai paintings, bamboo crafts, and lac bangles. Departure.
