Overview

Lilori Sthan is an ancient forest temple located in Katras (about 20 km from Dhanbad city), dedicated to Goddess Kali. Surrounded by sacred trees and rocky streams, this offbeat temple is highly revered for its spiritual power. Devotees tie red and yellow threads around the banyan trees surrounding the shrine as a mark of their wishes. The temple remains quiet during weekdays but attracts a large number of devotees on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and during Kali Puja when special prayers are offered.

History & Significance

The temple is believed to have been established by the rulers of the Katras Garh estate several centuries ago to protect their kingdom. It has served as a central place of worship for the local communities and coalfield workers for generations.
