Tagore Hill, known locally as Morabadi Hill, is a historic hillock in Ranchi city where the Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore's elder brother, Jyotirindranath Tagore, once lived. The hilltop offers panoramic views of Ranchi city and the surrounding forests. A peaceful garden and park have been developed at the site, featuring a small ashram building and a statue of Tagore. The hill is particularly beautiful during sunset when the sky glows in warm tones over the cityscape. It's a popular spot for morning joggers, photographers, and anyone seeking a quiet escape within the city.
Jyotirindranath Tagore, the elder brother of Rabindranath Tagore, spent his final years in Ranchi and lived in a house on this hill. Rabindranath Tagore visited his brother here multiple times and is believed to have written some of his works inspired by the natural beauty of the Chotanagpur Plateau. The ashram on the hill preserves this literary and cultural heritage.
